David asks…
What do breasts feel like during early pregnancy?
I recently have suspected I’m pregnant, and had my breasts get swollen for a few days, then they seemed “softer”. I don’t really know how to describe it but they didn’t seem as stiff. I guess the only way to describe it would be that when they seemed swollen, they seemed like water balloons that had been filled all the way, and when they got softer, it was almost like some of the water had been let out. (Sorry if all this is TMI!) However, they’re more sore now than they were before. I’ve had some other pregnancy signs as well, fatigue, extreme hunger, a little nausea, mood swings, sense of smell is stronger etc. I’ve taken tests, but they’re negative and I’m inclined to believe them. Mostly, I’m just curious if anyone else experienced something like this and later turned out to be pregnant.
To be totally clear, I’m looking for input from women who have pregnant in the past, or who experienced this and have confirmed whether or not they were actually pregnant. I’ve tried searching to find out what changes women experienced, but all I seem to get are the websites that briefly list early pregnancy symptoms, and none of them really seem to answer my question.
And, as stated above, I’ve taken tests, and they were negative. If the symptoms persist, I’m going to go see my doctor anyway. Just curious about this right now.

Mine were SUPER sensitive in the first trimester, to the point of it being painful. My areolas also gradually darkened – it was weird. A lot of smells also made me really nauseas ( pretty much the smell of everything, it was awful)

Jenny asks…
Possible for some symptoms of pregnancy to disappear?
Our assumption is she is about 5-7 weeks along. Is it possible for some of the symptoms of pregnancy to disappear? Such as sore or tender breasts and not all the time back pain. Some nausea but not getting sick. Extreme hunger and thirst and frequent urination are still around. And now she’s getting cramps they are like something is sort of tugging in her and exhaustion even if she has a nap. Is the tugging thing normal during early pregnancy? She said it feels like her muscles in her lower stomach are like someones pulling them in. It’s hard to describe. Any help???

Pregnancy symptoms change all the time throughout the course of the entire pregnancy. They never stay the same. Breasts do not stay tender all the whole time, lower pain and pulling fade as the ligaments stretch, and then can hurt again later in pregnancy. Exhaustion is very common this early but usually goes away around 13 weeks but it usually Always comes back in the third trimester. The is really no normal or abnormal pregnancy symptom and they all come and go. Have a huge concern and get to the doctor if she sees blood though. Other than that everything sounds normal. Like i mentioned earlier..the tugging is the ligaments stretching and will get better, but then probably worse as she gets further along.

Nancy asks…
Has anyone not had tender breasts during pregnancy??
I have every early symptom of being pregnant (period is 2 days late, tiredness, nausea, extreme hunger & thirst, headaches, etc). But I have no breast changes, and I’ve heard that tender, swollen breasts and darker nipples are an obvious sign of pregnancy. I am waiting a few more days to take a HPT, but has anyone else ever been pregnant with no breast symptoms???

Mary asks…
Am I Pregnant? Nausea for over a month now?
I have been feeling nauseous for almost over a month now. My last normal period was on September 8th, BUT I did have another short period on October 11th. This only lasted for about 3-4 days. It seemed like a normal flow for the first 2 days, but got lighter and by the 4th day, it was brown-ish in color.
After this short period, I experienced extreme headaches and nausea for about a week. The headaches are gone, but the nausea still occurs throughout the day. Typically worse at night sometimes. I also experienced minor cramping a couple times, like how I would feel before getting my period. But it didn’t make sense to me because why would I feel cramps when I had just gotten my period? This has never happened to me before.
Now, I am expecting my next period in less than a week. I still feel nauseous just about every single day. I have been eating a lot, and gained a couple of lbs. My breasts aren’t sore, but my nipples feel very tender and they kind of hurt when I touch them. However, I just assume that it’s because my period might start soon.
I have heard that some women can have a few periods in the beginning of early pregnancy. I don’t know what I am going through, and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have never experienced this before a period or during ovulation, and being nauseous for a month everyday is really starting to make me feel crazy.
Also, I took a few pregnancy tests and they have all come up negative. Is there any explanation for this?

It sounds as though you’ve had a mild case of the flu.

George asks…
5-day early period, diarrhea, and nausea? Long but not stupid?
My period came 5 days early, my cycle is 36 days long. I was expecting it June 8th but like I said, it got here earlier. My last period was May 4th. I had unprotected sex on May 19th for sure, and some day before that too but I’m not exactly sure what date. He didn’t finish inside me but it was unprotected nonetheless.
The early period that I had was normal for the most part, in the beginning it was light pink, then it was normal. My flow is never extremely heavy, and it usually lasts 4 days. The only differences between this period and all my other ones, was that this one came with horrible cramps. I mean, EXTREME cramps. Granted, my pain tolerance is very weak because for most of my years since I started my period I never got abdominal cramps to begin with. The most that would hurt was my lower back and my legs. The cramps only lasted one day, though. After that, it was just like normal. Yesterday, a day after I thought my period had stopped completely, I got a feeling like if blood was coming out again, but it was only a light brown discharge. I have no idea what that was all about, but it was very short and only came out once.
For the past week and a few days, I think, I’ve been (sorry for TMI) diarrhea. Nothing else accompanies it. Usually it’s in the mornings and at night. I don’t have any other symptoms that would point to a stomach flu. For the past few days, probably 5 or 4, I’ve been having nausea. I don’t get to vomiting or anything, but I feel an onset of something heavy coming, just like when you feel like you’re gonna throw up, and of course, the gross feeling that comes with it. That’s all that’s been happening. I don’t know if I’m sick or what’s going on…I don’t know if maybe I had an extremely early miscarriage (I only think this because of the horrible cramps I had during the second day of my period)…or if I’m sick, or what I believe is least likely, if I’m pregnant…
I really doubt it because I heard implantation bleeding isn’t like a period. But who knows. There’s the “every woman is different” theory too, haha. Would taking a pregnancy test now be the right thing to do or what? I’m confused.
Forgot to mention that when I got the brown discharge, my lower back and legs began to ache again but my period was supposedly over?
