Your Questions About Hcg Hormone Symptoms Of Pregnancy

Lisa asks…

Baffled doctor..confused patient..I need help?

Ok so. I went into the ER last Tuesday because I was thinking I was having a miscarriage. The thing is that the bleeding lasted 4 days but was nowhere near as heavy as a period. Like if I decided to wear a pad for the whole 4 days (I didn’t actually do this just an example) the pad wouldn’t even be filled.I also barely had any cramping. In comparison to period cramps it was nowhere near as painful. It was annoying but it didn’t really hurt. I didn’t need to take any pain meds to help. So anyway I got a blood test and the doc said that it was considered negative because I didn’t have enough HCG in my blood to say it was positive but the hormone was there. I also had a pelvic exam and the doctor was really confused. He said that my cervix was closed and generally if you are bleeding it would be opened especially since I was “supposedly” having a miscarriage. He said that if it was my menstrual it would have been opened as well but it wasn’t for either case. The doctor said that he was really baffled and didn’t really know what to tell me. He said to wait a couple weeks and come back and get a blood test so I can check my HCG levels again to see if the hormone is gone or if it has risen. He also mentioned that there is a possibility that it could be too early to tell and that there is a chance that what I am experiencing is implantation bleeding. He also said that sometimes implantation bleeding can last a few days and can get heavy.I don’t know what to think. I honestly still feel pregnant and I still have some of the symptoms of pregnancy. Has anything like this ever happened to you?? Did you take a HPT and it was negative and still ended up being pregnant after what you thought was a miscarriage?? How long does it take for pregnancy symptoms to go away after a miscarriage?? I was supposedly 5 weeks along if that info will help you answer my questions. I would really appreciate any answers that I can get.
Yes I had 2 positives and 3 negative blood tests. I looked it up if the HCG levels is below 25 its considered negative
sry not blood tests home pregnancy tests…sry i have the words “blood test” on the mind..

Yes, I have to agree with the other person…I don’t understand. Were you pregnant?? If you are certain you already were pregnant, then there is no way the blood is implantation bleeding. If you experience implantation bleeding, you would not have gotten a positive test yet.

On the other hand…if you are positive you were pregnant, and you had the bleeding and everything and the Dr did the hcg test and it was negative, then I would assume you had a miscarriage. The cervix does open to expel everything when you have a miscarriage, but it doesn’t stay open for long. So, maybe you did have a miscarriage, and your cervix closed before you made it to the ER. I have had a few miscarriages and am now pregnant with my 3rd baby, so…I know alot about this stuff.
My email is kdittman23@yahoo.com if you would like to chat sometime.
Good Luck and I hope everything turns out for the best :)

oh..I forgot to mention…I had implantation bleeding with my first child and it was like a period. I had a few cramps and the bleeding was light…but I thought it was my period..until I went to the Dr and they said I was pregnant…and I told them that I had just had my period like 2 weeks ago, and they said that it was implantation bleeding.

I am really confused and could use some advice..?

Ok so. I took a pregnancy test and I tested positive. I tested again later in the day it was negative. Two days later I tested again and it was a faint positive. The doctor mentioned that there was a possibility that it was too early to tell. That is why he wanted me to wait a couple weeks and get another blood test.

I experienced some spotting at 6w and a few days later had very painful bowel movements so I went to the ER. I also had low levels of HCG from the beginning so we alreardy knew something was not right. They did a transvaginal u/s. Turns out, it was ectopic. They couldn’t see for sure where it was, but they think it was between my uterus and bowel as there was an abnormality there and would explain the painful bowel movements.

If you were for certain 5 weeks and your blood HCG was too low to be considered positive for pregnancy, that means you probably miscarried. I’m sorry.

Is there a chance you could be earlier along than you think? If you were only 3.5 weeks along, your HCG would barely register on a blood test…

Carol asks…

My pregnancy may be eptopic?

I found out i was pregnant on friday evening. Since then I had to go to A and E on saturday as I was feeling very unwell. They kept me in because of my symptoms, alot of pain on my side and faintness.
They can not say how far along I am. But they figure Im at least 5 weeks. My HCG level is 1464 yesterday, which is pretty high, and should be able to detect a heartbeat. However they didnt during my internal scan today. The sonographer found what she thinks is my pregnancy. But she can not be sure whether it is in my womb or my tubes. So i have to go for blood tests every couple of days to check my hormones are doubling. If they dont then they will need to operate.

Has anyone ever been in this situation? I am very stressed, this is my first ever pregnancy, was not planned, but i was overjoyed and now Im feeling really down about all this. Does anybody have any advice on how to cope?
Or are there any doctors out there I could maybe speak to? Im just very confused, and feel very alone.

Donna asks…

has anyone gone through this? i need your help?

This is going to be a little long but please bear with me. i really need to know if this has happened to anyone else that might know whats going on. I gave birth in march. i still haven’t had a menstrual cycle. i have taken upwards of 8 hpts; all negative. recently i have been having some pregnancy symptoms: irritability, increased appetite, mild cramping, sore breasts and some nausea. all of which i know are also symptoms of pms but i have been having them for a few weeks. i haven’t bled at all. it has been four months. is it possible to actually be pregnant but have my hormones be so screwed up that i wouldn’t produce hcg or have other hormones cover it up? has this happened to any of you? i don’t have insurance so i don’t want to go to the doctor and pay 75 for a pregnancy test. please help!

admin answers:

It is most definatly possible. My child was only 6 months old when I became pregnant again. You can go to a free clinic to have them do one. Or a planned parenthood place as well.
