Daniel asks…
How much of the HcG hormone does it take to cause symptoms?
Say someone takes a test and it’s negative, but only because it’s very early on and the test only picks up 25 measurements on the hormone, and at the time you only have say 15. How much of the hormone does it take to cause common early symptoms, like nausea, itchy breasts, frequent urination, mood swings, constipation, etc.
In other words, can you have not enough HcG to activate a positve result on a test, but enough of the hormone to trigger some early symptoms?
I think the first poster mis understood my question lol. I know that the HcG hormone is what causes the positve on the test, but it takes a certain amount of the hormone to trigger the positive result. I was wondering if you can have enough of the hormone to have symptoms, but not enough of the hormone to have a positive result

It depends how in tune you are with your body. For instance, I always feel ovulation while some of my friends say that they don’t. Therefore, I was able to detect symptoms early on. I definitely had symptoms before my BFP. Here were some of my symptoms:
*constipation- I am usually regular and I noticed that I was not having my regular BM (sorry TMI)
*taste- I ordered my favorite salad and could not taste it; my coffee tasted metallic
*cramping- I felt like I was getting my period, but it did not come
*breast tenderness- not extreme, but the usual before I got my period
I hope this helps!
Best of luck and sticky baby dust to you!

Lizzie asks…
when will a pregnant woman start producing HCG hormone?
after how many days of conception will she produce HCG ?any body symptoms to assume this state?

admin answers:
You will produce hCG once the egg has implanted (about 10 to 15 days after conception). However, the level of hCG probably won’t be high enough for a pregnancy test to detect for at least a few days.
Pregnancy symptoms can start anytime after implantation.

Charles asks…
If hcg is high enough to cause symptoms its high enough for a positive test right?
Two days ago i went to the doctor because i have had alot of nausea/ loss of appetite since early september. I thought i would just be prescribed antibiotics or something and it would be all over. My doctor suggested the possibility that im pregnant. I hadnt even thought about it, but i havent been on birth control for a few months, but we have been using the pullout method.
Im not nauseated in the morning, im nauseated all day sometimes. i have lost 7 pounds.
I have had two missed periods, but i am very irregular anyways.
My nipples are sore, but my breasts arent.
Im extremelyyyyyy tired…but it could just be stress i suppose.
and i have been peeing a little more than usual.
I would be around 8 weeks i would think.
My doctor gave me a qualitative blood test, and it was negative.
If i have enough of that hormone to be having symptoms, i would have to show up on a blood test right?
But i have heard of women who dont show up positive until 3 months or longer.
what do you think?
I also read this HCG levels chart and even at 5 weeks a level of 18 mIU/ml is normal, and the doctors blood tests usually cut off around 25 mIU/ml.
Can i request another blood test in a few weeks? or does the doctor have to request it?
I could be less than 8 weeks too, because we still havent gotten birth control yet.

At 8 weeks with symptoms like yours a blood test should have given you a postive if you were really pregnant.
Something else must be going on.
It’s true some women don’t find out until 3 months or later, but that’s because they have been experiencing bleeding that they thought was a period, and because they had no other pregnancy symptoms. In other words, their HcG levels were low for quite some time.

Robert asks…
HCG hormone effected by pill?
Now i know being on the pill does not effect the test result but could being on the pill take the HCG longer to become stronger? Im still on the pill for a few more weeks before i know whether or not i miss a period. I have loads of symptoms though but have taken a test which came out negative

Well you’re not supposed to be able to get pregnant on the pill, but I’m living proof that you can. Get off the pill a.s.a.p. If you really truly think you are pregnant.

Mark asks…
Negative HcG Test; Unusual Period; Weird Symptoms. Can I be pregnant?
My period, which is VERY normal was late 20 days. Because of this, I had two HCG tests and they both came back negative. I had hormone tests done as well, and all is normal. It was a weird period; as I normally have it for 7 days, and this time I bled for 2 days; the remaining days (5 days) was a brownish spotting. The same day the spotting ended; my breasts became very sore; very tender to even a bra. I’ve been with my breasts very sore for one week now.
My appetite has increased (which is very unusual); I am constipated (which is also unusual). I experienced everything from constant lower back pain to a very sensitive sense of smell. Again, I had two HCG tests done, but both have come back negative. Nothing like this has ever happened to me. Can I be pregnant?
Thank you for your responses. I will ask my doctor to retest

Was the hCG test a blood test? If so, then it’s very accurate and you probably aren’t pregnant. If it was a urine test, I would ask for a blood test.
