Your Questions About Relieving Morning Sickness

Lizzie asks…

What can I do to relieve morning sickness?? I am HORRIBLY sick and I cannot do crap all day!?

I sleep and puke alllll day. What can I do to feel better??? I am 6wks 4 days!

admin answers:

Awww! I was going to ask the SAME question! Lol.

I am 8 weeks 5 days. My day consists of small snacks, ginger ale, sleeping, gagging, and puking.

I just called Kaiser bc none of the regular suggestions work for me (saltines, ginger ale, small meals, keep something in your tummy, sleep, water, etc)

I haven’t had REAL food in 2 weeks. I “snack” all day. I have a string cheese, saltines, grapes, a banana, yogurt, soup, some veggies and dip… That’s IT. It sucks!

I was hoping the Dr could provide me a miracle Rx, but they recommended all the regular stuff, plus vitamin B6 supplements (along with pre-natal vitamins). They said start with 50mg at night before bed, if it works, you can increase the dose to 200mg.

I’m going to try this, maybe it’ll help! Im scared to leave the house bc I puke all the time! I literally had to pull over on the side of the road on the way to work the other day. Yucky yucky yucky!

What’s the easiest way to relieve morning sickness?

admin answers:

The best thing to do is combat it before it starts. First, don’t rush to get up in the morning. Take your time getting out of bed. Take some deep breaths and let the rest of your body get acclimated to whatever your stomcah is feeling when you wake up. Next, try eating a piece of dry toast or saltines before eating anything else. Instead of trying to drink juice or water, try ginger tea or another type of herbal tea. Make sure whatever kind you choose is caffeine free though. That might help settle your stomach. Not eating at all or trying to eat something too heavy will probably make you feel more queasy. Although it’s called morning sickness, you may find yourself getting sick or nauseous all through the day. Try to keep some crackers with you at all times.

During my first trimester, I was sick the first 3 months. I knew that I had to stay hydrated even though I was hardly able to keep anything down. I found that drinking Gatorade in lieu of ginger ale or Sprite really helped. But don’t overdose on that either. Sports drinks have a lot sodium in them and that can cause swelling and preeclampsia. Good luck and congrats!

Worst case is that you’ll need to go into the hospital for hydration. Try eating only jell-o, broth , juices and yogurt. No solids.

Morning sickness?

Ok so I read all the posts and I saw that some people have had really good luck with preggie pops for relieving morning sickness. Sounds good but there isn’t anywhere where I live that sells them so I have to order them online. In the meantime does anyone know if theres anything similar or any other suggestion of something they would sell at like wal mart or somewhere similar so I could actually get a hold of it like today. I’m completely miserable I’m nausious all day and I don’t know that I can wait until i could get something by mail. My partner works 12 hour shifts on the weekend so I’m home with a 2 1/2 year old who doesnt understand what’s going on and I haven’t found anything that has worked so far. Any suggestions would be great.

Popsicles to cure morning sickness?

Has anybody tried eating popsicles to relieve morning sickness? Does it really work?

admin answers:

Lemon popsicles work the best. Something in the lemon makes it work better than regular popsicles. And the sugar helps calm the stomach. That is why they say to drink flat soda when you have the stomach flu. I bought some anti-nausea medicine for my kids and I noticed the ingredients was just sugar.
